AMD ROCm 5.3.3 was updated today with 10 Linux operating systems fully supporting the latest implementation. The latest changes in ROCm fix issues with the rocPRIM and rocTHRUST libraries. Two libraries did not recognize ROCm 5.3.x iteration types and other commands. The change went into effect with the latest version 5.3.3 released yesterday. AMD Radeon RX 7900 series graphics cards affected by ROCm 5.3.3 are expected to be released next month (December 13, 2022). Michael Larabel of the Phoronix website notes that AMD has been slow to support his RDNA and RDNA 2 within his ROCm computing stack, with the latest updates to the ROCm library being months away from being fully implemented. ROCm 5.3.3 and AMD will be ready for the latest RDNA 3 implementation and support once the latest update is released. AMD ROCm also has two different installation packages: single version and multi-version installation. A single version of ROCm allows a user to install a single version of her ROCm on the system and use all his non-versioned ROCm metapackages. For multi-version installations that allow multiple instances of ROCm on a single system, use the versioned ROCm metapackage and extend the package name and full support to support different packages simultaneously.
