The design of the Arctis Pro + GameDAC can only be described in one word: elegant. While its main competitors appear to be designing the most ambitious-looking gaming headsets, it brings it all back to earth with a simple, minimalist, and no-frills design. SteelSeries goes for a classy, matte look and an ergonomic design once more. Its steel headband is gunmetal in color and has a padded underside. The swiveling ear cups feature removable plates with soft touch paint and Airweave cushions inspired by athletics. It also has a secondary headband that traces the wearer’s head for a perfect fit, similar to a self-adjusting ski goggle suspension band. Of course, users can swap out the headband and magnetic earcup covers for something a little more unique, as we did, and you can see our customized headset below. You can wear these puppies for a long time without causing any discomfort to your head or ears. Furthermore, because of the removable headband and ear cups, you can easily break away from the standard black color scheme and personalize yours with its own line of accessories that come in a variety of colors and designs. LED lights run around the fringe of the ear cups to give it that gamer look, and you can customize them with the GameDAC. When not in use, the mic twists in any direction and easily pushes into the left ear cup, and it has its own LED light that glows when muted. We’re undecided about one minor detail: the placement of the mute button and volume dial. They’re both located in the back of the left ear cup, so if you’re a rightie, you’ll have to retrain yourself when adjusting the volume. The advantage is that you won’t have to remove your hand from the mouse in the middle of a game to do so.
