That value begins with design. The Logitech Z407 is small enough to fit on a small desk, measuring 7.87 x 3.70 x 3.35 inches (satellites) with a 9.45 x 9.21 x 7.09-inch sub. The speakers are also stylish, with capsule-shaped satellites and a dark grey finish that make them a classy addition to work and creative environments. It also has an overall rigid build that should last for several years. The Logitech Z407 is also multifunctional. The removable satellite stands can be attached in two ways, allowing for a horizontal or upright setup. It also includes a wireless control dial with a 20-meter range and three connectivity options – Bluetooth, micro USB, and 3.5 mm – to increase its versatility. The wireless dial may be perplexing at first, especially since not all media apps provide complete support: Spotify does, but Apple TV on Mac does not support skip or forward, and Netflix on Windows does not even allow you to rewind. Furthermore, because you’re essentially using the same physical dial for both, it may take you a while to figure out whether you’re controlling the volume or the bass level. We’re not saying it’s complicated, just that it’s not as simple as most people would like. However, once you’ve figured out how to use the dial, it’ll feel like an extension of your arm. Just because these speakers have wireless connectivity doesn’t mean you’ll be cable-free. The satellites must be connected to the sub using RCA cables. However, you can still connect the system to your computer or device via Bluetooth, allowing the clutter to remain behind your desk where it belongs. Because Bluetooth connectivity is excellent and comparable to 3.5mm, you can use it for convenience while still receiving excellent, lag-free audio. The micro USB connection appears to have a bit more high end and detail for slightly higher quality sound.
