Guide: Know Who Is Drawing in Zoom on PC and Mobile: Guide
No video conferencing app is complete without screen sharing featureEven Facebook Messenger offers it. So, how can the popular Zoom app lag? On Zoom, all participants can take notes on a split screen. While that is a welcome change, it also poses the problem of random drawings being scribbled during a conversation. The main problem occurs when you cannot identify the person drawing on the screen during a video call in Zoom. By default, when the participants scribble on a split screen in Zoom, you cannot see the names of the people involved. Also, sometimes things can get confusing and annoying when someone starts drawing inappropriate things. To avoid such scenarios, Zoom provides a setting that shows the participant’s name when drawing on the shared screen during a Zoom call. In this post, we will tell you how to find out who is scribbling on the shared screen while using Zoom on the computer and mobileAs a bonus, we also show you how to prevent other participants from drawing on the shared screen or whiteboard during a Zoom video call.
How to Know who is scribbling zoom
To know who is currently annotating in Zoom, you need to enable a setting for it. Only the person who initiated the sharing process can enable the setting. After it is enabled, all participants can see the name of the person who is drawing. Let’s see how to enable the setting on pc and mobile apps.
Enable annotator name settings on PC
To do this, follow these steps: Step 1: Create a meeting and start sharing your screen or start a whiteboard. Step 2: You will see a box at the top that says You are screen sharing. Move your mouse over to display the toolbar.
Step 3: In the toolbar that appears, click More button (three-dot icon). Select the option ‘Show annotator names’.
If you enable the option, you will see the participant’s name when that person starts drawing.
Search for the participant’s name for old drawings
When sharing a screen, click the Annotate option on the toolbar to see who drew or annotated something.
A new toolbar will open. Now click on Select. Then select the drawing or move your mouse over the respective drawings to reveal the creator.
