Of course Apple isn’t named, but HPMS is their Cirrus Logic product that includes haptic drivers for their Taptic Engine in their iPhone. This follows from a Barclays investor memo, which we don’t have all the details about here, but the new haptic engine feature it’s perfect for solid state buttons and it’s been hinted at since the October rumors. Sort of like his Touch ID button on your iPhone before or the trackpad on your Mac laptop🇧🇷 The haptic feedback is so accurate that you can easily be sure the keys are moving when they’re not. Fewer moving parts is certainly Apple’s mantra. Apple has long tried to improve its buttons with haptics. Even the Apple Watch’s Digital Crown uses haptics. It might even mean that the buttons it will sit flush with the sides of the iPhone 15. This at least means more precision when using the iPhone as a bubble level in key apps, but it will likely be limited to the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, but the elegance of the next flagship from iPhone. It also adds to the ugliness, if that’s what they’re called.
