Helpful Zoom Video Settings That You Might Not Know

1. Open the video settings

2. Test Camera Vision

5. Touch Up Appearance
If Snapchat filters seem way too extreme, but you still want to add an effect to your video, you should try the native touch up feature in Zoom. To use it in your video, start the video settings in Zoom. Then check the box next to Touch up my appearance.
6. Change the video ratio
By default, Zoom displays videos in 16: 9 ratio, that is, in widescreen mode. You can change it and display the video in the original ratio as captured by your camera
To do this, go to Video settings. Select Original ratio below Camera
7. Turn Camera
Is your camera show a wrong rendering of your video? You must have accidentally rotated it or it might be stuck in tablet mode. To you camera, open the Zoom video settings. Click the Rotate option in the video preview screen.
8. Add a virtual background to zoom meetings
Many of us are concerned about our background when we are on a video call. Fortunately, you can handle that. Choose Zoom’s virtual background to make your video feed look unique. You can choose from the available virtual backgrounds or add your own. To change your wallpaper, go to the Zoom settings. Click on Virtual Background in the left sidebar. Choose a background. Click the add icon to upload from your PC.
9. Turn off video during a meeting
When you are in a meeting, there is a good chance that someone will come in or come near you camera accidental viewing. To avoid such moments, you can use your camera fast. To do this, click on the Stop Video option at the bottom of the meeting screen. You can also right-click on your video and select Stop video. Pro Tip Use the keyboard shortcut Alt + V (Windows) and Command (⌘) + Shift + V (Mac) to start or stop the video.
10. Turn off video about joining a meeting
You must use the above setting when you want to turn off your video. If you want to turn off your video before joining a meeting on Zoom, a setting is available for that. Later, you can also start the video at any time. To do this, go to the Zoom video settings. Then check the box next to Disable my video when joining a meeting.
11. Change the view
If you are in a meeting, you will see the video of all participants in small tiles. It is known as a gallery view. If you think it is distracting, you can only change it to display the speaker’s video. To do this, click the Speaker or Gallery View icon at the top of the meeting screen.
Pro Tip: You can hide the participants whose video is not showing by going to Zoom video settings. Check Hide non-video participants.
12. Hide yourself
When in gallery view, you can hide your video from yourself so that it doesn’t last up space on your screen. The video is still visible to others. To do this, right-click on your video window and choose Hide Self View. To show your video again, click Show yourself button present at the top.
13. Turn off the video of participants
If you are a meeting host, you can turn off each participant’s video. To do this, right-click on the video preview screen and select Stop video.
They cannot restart the video unless you give them permission. To do this, right-click again and choose the option Ask to start video.
